BACK 2 BASICS MINISTRY is a non-profit 501(c)(3) ministry that brings the love of God to forgotten teenagers that live on the streets, in shelters, RTC’S foster homes, mental facilities, by providing consistent healthy, loving relationships, and addressing individual spiritual, emotional, and material needs.
We need your help to let the teens know they are loved. Please consider contributing what you are able today.
Just imagine for a moment that you are a 13 or 14 year-old child who has lived a life of physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse. You have been abandoned and neglected for as long as you can remember, and now through no fault of your own, you are sent to live in a group home with 5, 10 or 15 other teens who have experienced just as much, if not more cruelty. Your basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter are provided through the system as best as they can, but any semblance of a family (regardless of how dysfunctional and violent) is completely gone.
You hear about the cute little children who are adopted into loving families or who are the recipients of many wonderful ministries and you wonder why the teens are forgotten. You wonder if anyone will even remember you on your birthday or what you will do on Thanksgiving or Christmas, if anything. You are no longer a cute little child but you are also not a capable adult. You want to shout “DOES ANYONE EVEN CARE ABOUT ME?!?!”. You did not cause this situation but here you are, will anyone help? Will anyone tell you that you are valuable and loved? Will anyone teach you there is a source of peace and love when everyone else abandons you?
